Film producers and distributors award the best
Industrialists were urged to be involved with the cinema of Bangladesh and invest to give the audience films of good taste.
'Being the affluent section of the society, they can make a big contribution to our film industry,' added Ujjal, the former hero of the industry, at the orientation and award giving ceremony of the Bangladesh Producers and Distributors' Association held at a local hotel on August 19.
The former FBCCI President introduced the new 11-member executive council of the Producers and Distributors' Association.
The best film award for 1996 went to Rangin Pran Shajani, best director-- Azizur Rahman Buli, best actor--late Salman Shah, best actress--Shabnur and best playback singers--Andrew Kishore and Sabina Yasmeen.
For 1997 the awards for the best actor and actress went to Razzak and Shucharita. The best film and director were Hangar Nadi Grenade and Chashi Nazrul Islam. Best vocals were Andrew Kishore and Kanak Champa.
The best actor and actress awards for 1998 went to Ilias Kanchan and Moushumi. Baper Taka was adjudged the best film, AJ Mintu the best director and Abdul Hadi and Sabina Yasmeen the best playback singers.
The award giving ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural show and a raffle draw.
