Another three officers-in-charge (OCs) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) were transferred yesterday.

Qamrul Hasan of Double Mooring Police Station was transferred to Barisal range, Nesar Ahmed of Bayezid Bostami Police Station to Khulna range and Mesbah Uddin of Chandgaon Police Station who was also investigation officer (IO) of Chittagong businessman Jamal Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury abduction case, to Rajshahi range.

Meanwhile, SM Sabbir Ali took charge of the CMP commissioner and Mahbubur Rahman joined as police superintendent of Chittagong district Wednesday while AKM Mahfuzul Haq joined yesterday as additional deputy inspector general of Chittagong.

The CMP commissioner and the police super of Chittagong district who were made officers on special duty (OSD) Monday were served show-cause notice Wednesday.

They were asked to give reasons behind their failure in the rescue operation of Jamal and the downslide in law and order, sources said.

Twelve officials of the CMP and Chittagong district police were made OSD in the last couple of days.
