Sources said more newly promoted additional secretaries would be given postings tomorrow. But around 50 of them would be made officers on special duty (OSDs) due to lack of vacant posts.

Many of them have started lobbying with the high-ups for important office.

A top official said fresh postings to the 49 newly promoted joint secretaries will not be a problem as there are vacancies. A list of their new postings has already been finalised and official notification will be issued from tomorrow.

They are also lobbying for posting in important ministries and divisions, the official said.
