Toyota Motor Show gets good response

The daylong Toyota Motor Show in Dhaka yesterday got good response from car lovers with sellers receiving orders from prospective customers.

"We received enough orders from customers as we introduced two new cars from Lexus and offered discount of Tk 50,000 on other models of Toyota vehicles," said an official of Navana Limited.

Navana Limited, sole distributor for Toyota and Hino vehicles in Bangladesh, organised the show, the first ever motor show in Bangladesh organised by an individual company.

Various models of Toyota including Corolla, Avensis, Camry, Land Cruiser Prado, RAV4, Hi Ace, Hi Lux and newly introduced LS430 and LX470 were put on display at the Bangladesh- China Friendship Conference Centre, the show venue.

A huge number of car loving people visited the exposition and most of them showed interest in the latest two Lexus cars, organisers said.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, the two new Lexus cars were formally launched in local market.

Navana Limited introduced the new sophisticated and luxury cars targeting businesspeople, high officials, executives and foreign diplomats.

The autos -- four-seated LS430 sedan car and seven-seated LX470 jeep -- were launched by Commerce Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.

The launching function was also attended by International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh President Mahabubur Rahman, Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Matsushiro Horiguchi, Toyota Tsusho Corporation Senior General Manager T Abe and Navana Group Chairman Shafiul Islam Kamal.

The Lexus 4300cc sedan and 8400cc jeep manufactured by Toyota are priced at Tk 1.30 crore and Tk 1.25 crore.

Speaking at the function Shafiul Islam said four Lexus jeeps have already been sold. "And we have a target to sell 100 Lexus cars this year."

"Both the sedan and jeep cars offer the highest level of comfort, reliability and safety," he added.

Navana will provide one-year or 20,000km run warranty for all parts of the vehicles.
