4 abducted in Khagrachhari PCJSS blamed


Four activists of the United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) were abducted from Balipara village in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari district on Wednesday night.

Police said a group of ten armed youths stormed into the house of Parimal Chakma at around 11:00pm. Sensing presence of his rivals, Parimal tried to escape. But he was injured as the youths fired on him from behind. With bullet injuries, Parimal took shelter at a nearby security camp.

Later, the youths abducted Boidda Ruhun Chakma, 16, Narayan Chakma, 32, Kamolendu Chakma, 25 and Kalparuhul Chakma, 50 from the village at gunpoint.

The UPDF blamed the armed wing of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS) for kidnapping the four.
