Diploma course on journalism begins
Bangladesh Institute of Communication Studies and Public Relations (BICSPR) has begun a diploma course on journalism under National University, says a press release.

Prof Syed Abul Kalam Azad, Treasurer, National University, inaugurated the course as chief guest on October 11 at the Institute. Prof Shakhawat Ali Khan, Head of the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, was present as special guest. Prof Azad said "Journalism is treated as a noble profession worldwide. Diploma in Journalism will play an important role in expansion and development of journalism education in the country," he said.

Executive Director of the institute Mirza Tarequl Qader and member of the governing body industrialist Neesar Ahmed also spoke. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, chairman of the governing body of the institute, presided.

A total of 26 students, including 6 women, are taking part in the first batch.
