Gaibandha Tornado
2 more die, another body recovered


Two persons, injured in Sunday night's tornado, died at a local hospital Thursday night, while rescue workers recovered an unidentified charred body from a brickfield at Khamar Dashalia village in Sadullahpur upazila.

The brickfield was badly damaged by the tornado that lashed Sundarganj and Sadullahpur upazilas.

The two who died at the hospital are Surajvan, 75, and Zahirul, 8, of Khamar Dashalia village.

With these, the death toll in the tornado has crossed 50.

Army personnel have been deployed in the affected areas to distribute relief among the tornado victims. They are setting also up tents as temporary shelters for the homeless people.

Members of Bangladesh Rifles, non-governmental organisations and army medical team have been treating the injured at makeshift medical centres.
