Wasa to install 8 water pump stations in N'ganj

The Dhaka Water And Sewerage Authority (Wasa) will install eight more water pump stations in the district to reduce water shortage.

Wasa can supply only six crore liters against the current demand of 10 crore liters.

Wasa Managing Director MD ANH Akhtar Hossain yesterday at a view exchange meeting at the district club said at present Wasa is supplying water to the district to some 10,000 subscribers through its 137 kilometers water supply lines.

About the waterlogging problem inside the Dhaka- Narayanganj-Demra (DND) dam, MD Akhtar said steps are being taken according to a recently conducted survey on how to manage waterlogging in DND during the monsoon.

At present, Wasa is supplying water with its two water treatment plants and nine pump stations, the MD said.
