Nor'wester kills 2 in Mymensingh


At least two persons were killed and 25 others injured, three of them critically, when a nor'wester hit 12 villages and the campus of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in the sadar upazila yesterday.

The victims, killed by lightning at village Char Kharicha, were identified as Arfan Ali, 25, and Firoja Begum, 24, wife of Habi. They died on the spot while three others, including a baby, received injuries and were admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).

The nor'wester that lashed sadar upazila twice yesterday, seriously affected Chalakandi, Baira, Bhabakhali, Sutiakhali, Digharkanda, Narayanpur and Amania villages.
