Underprivileged children to get free eye surgeries

Child Sight Foundation (CSF), a non-profit organisation, will provide quality cataract surgeries for the blind children free of cost every year, says a press release.

A Memorandum of Under-standing was signed between the CSF and Bangladesh Eye Hospital on May 19, under which 10 underprivileged children would get free cataract surgeries at Bangladesh Eye Hospital per month.

CSF has been providing free cataract surgeries for the visually impaired children of the rural communities since the last couple of years at Bangladesh Eye Hospital. The International Centre for Eye Health (ICEH), London, is funding for the CSF programme.

Bangladesh Eye Hospital Chairman Dr Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director Dr Niaz Rahman, CFS President Dr Zobaida Hannan and General Secretary Md Mahbub Ullah were present at the signing ceremony among others.
