BCS computer show 2005 starts this week

The largest ICT showcase of Bangladesh, the "BCS Computer Show 2005" is scheduled to start from September 22. Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) is organising their biggest event of the year at the exhibition center of Bashundhara City complex at Panthapath.

SM Iqbal, president, BCS, informed that they have acquired an area of around 90,000 square feet on a single floor at level 7 of the Bashundhara City for the exhibition.

Around 100 participants including international ICT companies like Samsung, Toshiba, HP, Asus and many more will be on the same floor with local companies to exhibit their products.

A series of seminars will also take place regarding major issues of the ICT industry where experts will be sharing their ideas.

There has been a major dispute going around the computer markets regarding the recent spot chosen for the fair. It is believed that there would hardly be any visitors coming only for the fair purpose as the City complex remains crowded even otherwise, whereas many along with major members of the BCS believe that the place has been the perfect spot for such exposure.

Iqbal expects this year's show will break the records of the previous years, extending the public response to over 200,000.

"Earlier BCS notified the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organisation (Asocio) member-economies regarding the show through the Asocio secretariat in Tokyo. Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation and few other members of Asocio had shown their interest to participate at the BCS show", said ASM Abdul Fattah, convener of BCS Computer Show 2005.
