The audio market during Eid |
In the audio industry in Bangladesh Soundtek, Sargam, Sangeeta have been established production houses for years. In the recent years Laser Vision, G Series and Arshee has been playing a pivotal role in publishing albums of noted as well as upcoming artistes. It has become a tradition for production houses to release an array of quality albums around Eid-Ul-Fitr. Arshee has recently released Face2Face (Drubhotara) by SI Tutul, Re/Evolution/ by Fuad, Ruposhi Konnya by Polash, Palki by popular singer Momotaz and Bhognangsho by Biplob, Pantho Kanai, SI Tutul and Hasan.
Laser Vision has presented an album of instrumental music (flute) Live at Dover Lane Music Conference 02. The Compact Disc features the performance of Ustad Azizul lslam on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Festival of famous Dover Lane Music Conference held on 20th January 2002 in Kolkata.
Other albums released by Laser Vision are: Rajdhani and Fera. Music by Emon Shaha and Lyrics by Mohammed Hossain Jaimy, songs of Rajdhani have been rendered by popular artistes Andrew Kishore, Kanakchampa, Kumar Bishwajit, Samina Chowdhury, Monir Khan, Momotaz, Biplob, Polash, Rashed and Mimi.
Fera is an album comprising songs by Shamim and Pancham. Kishore Shamim has written and composed the songs of the album.
Albums by sought-after artistes are usually the best sellers in the 'Eid market'. A few of these artistes whose albums are out now are Momotaz, Syed Abdul Hadi, Ayub Bachchu and James.
Riding a wave of popularity, Momotaz has remained at the top of the chart of folk songs in Bangladesh. Her fame established, she has done playbacks for several films of late. 12 of her albums have been released on occasion of Eid. The albums mostly feature folk songs.
Syed Abdul Hadi's 12th album Tomakey Amar Korey is certainly one of the best compilation of his popular adhunik songs. Titles such as Niyoti amay jedikey, Ato kachhey thekeo, Tomakey amar korey, Lukatey chao kano, Nirob cheye achhi and others are sure to please Hadi's fans. KT Series has released the album.
Mati is a collection of Bangla rock numbers by two of the most celebrated rockstars of our country, Ayub Bachchu and James. Prince Mahmud has composed all the tracks of the album. Bachchu and James have also released an album titled Dosto Dushmon under the banner of Sangeeta.
