Azmi to star in Nargis' Megher Koley Roud
Renowned film actress, Shabana Azmi was recently in Dhaka to participate in Brac's annual meeting, says a press release. In the course of her stay, she paid a courtesy visit to Nargis Akhter, the director of the first Bangladeshi movie she acted in, Meghla Akash. There she took part in a short programme with the film's crew and other officials.

Shabana congratulated Nargis for the success of Meghla Akash. In her words, the film had created great awareness on the need to combat HIV/AIDS, one of the biggest threats to mankind.

Shabana is also slated to perform in Nargisí second film on HIV/ AIDS, titled Megher Koley Roud. Accordingly, she will be returning to Dhaka for a week in March, 2006.

The day was also notable for another reason. Accompanied by Nargis, Shabana visited Brac's different development projects (sanitation, women's health care and housing). She wound up the day with a visit to FemCom Bangladesh--producer of Meghla Akash--in the evening.
