Aussies make two changes for 2nd Test

Australia have made two changes to their squad for the second Test against South Africa starting in Melbourne on December 26 following an injury to veteran opener Justin Langer.

Langer, 35, who strained a hamstring while running between the wickets in the first Test in Perth, was replaced by New South Wales state opener Phil Jaques.

Jaques, 26, will make his Test debut as opener in front of a likely crowd of about 80,000 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Boxing Day.

The only other change to the squad playing in the first Test was the omission of paceman Stuart Clark, who had been named 12th man in Perth.

Spinner Stuart MacGill will return to the squad after a successful Test series against the West Indies.

SQUAD
Ricky Ponting (captain), Phil Jaques, Matthew Hayden, Brad Hodge, Michael Hussey, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Shane Warne, Stuart MacGill, Nathan Bracken, Glenn McGrath.
