A homage to Abbasuddin Ahmed


Bhawaiyan Academy, a cultural organisation commemorated the 46th death anniversary of Abbasuddin Ahmed recently, at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium, National Museum.

Bhawaiya maestro Abbasuddin Ahmed was posthumously awarded a Bhawaya Padak and a quarterly magazine Bhawaiya was launched at the event as well.

Speaker of the parliament, Barrister Zamiruddion Sarkar inaugurated the programme. Motahar Hossain Sufi and Dr Nashid Kamal attended as chief guests. Eminent folklore researcher, Dr Ashraf Siddiqui presided over the programme. Executive director of the academy, KM Mustafizur Rahman presented the welcome speech. The event wrapped up with a musical soiree.
