Journo Farazi gets bail in Runner editor murder case

The High Court yesterday granted bail to Farazi Ajmol Hossain, Senior Reporter of The Ittefaq, an accused in an editor murder case.

Saiful Alam Mukul, editor of the daily Runner published from Jessore, was killed by the unknown assailants on August 30 in 1998.

Farazi was made accused in the case by a supplementary charge sheet submitted by the CID after six-and-a-half years of its original charge sheet.

Granting the bail, a division bench, comprising Justice MA Rashid and Justice ATM Fazle Kabir, issued a rule upon the government to explain why Farazi should not be granted a regular bail.

Barrister Amir-Ul Islam appeared for Farazi, says a press release.
