Rajuk withdraws name of Dr Rabiul from case

The Rajdhani Unnayan Katripakkha (Rajuk) authorities have withdrawn the name of Dr Tarafder Rabiul Islam from the list of persons accused of filling up Gulshan-Baridhara lake.

Earlier, the Rajuk filed a case against seven people with the Gulshan Police Station for allegedly violating the Wetland Protection Act.

Dr Rabiul Islam, a former United Nations advisor, was at the top of the list of the accused in the case although he was in no way involved in the alleged violation.

As Dr Rabiul protested the inclusion of his name, the Rajuk authorities sent a letter to the Gulshan Police Station on Tuesday, requesting the officer-in-charge to withdraw the name of Dr Rabiul from the case.
