Former minister Tito joins AL today

Former minister, Jatiya Party Secretary General and BNP leader Khaledur Rahman Tito will join Awami League today.

Tito will join the party presenting a bouquet to Awami League President and Leader of the Opposition Sheikh Hasina at the party's Dhanmondi office in the capital in presence of the central leaders.

Political observers in Jessore said with the joining of Tito, the strife-torn district Awami League will get an impetus. He has a reputation as a good political organiser. Besides, the Jessore district AL will get a strong candidate against BNP central vice president and Environment and Forest Minister Tariqul Islam.

On the other hand, a group of district Awami League is afraid of being cornered after his joining the party.

Tito is likely to get nomination from AL to contest the next parliamentary election against Tariqul Islam from Jessore-3 constituancy, political observers said.
