PM reaffirms support to Palestine

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia reaffirmed Bangladesh's continuous support for establishing the Palestinians' rightful rights through peaceful solution to the longstanding problem.

"Bangladesh is always extending its support, and it will continue for establishing the Palestinian people's inalienable right to an Independent and Sovereign State," she said.

The PM made the remarks when newly appointed Palestinian Ambassador to Bangladesh Shaher Mohammad made a courtesy call on her at the PMO yesterday.

Khaleda hoped that the struggle of Palestine would be successful and all concerned would play their due role in implementing the Road Map in peace process in the Middle East.

She said the existing good relations between the peoples of Bangladesh and Palestine would continuously strengthen and deepen.

The Ambassador said the people of Palestine always recalled the continuous support of the people of Bangladesh to their movement for establishing Palestinians' just rights.

"Palestinian people always remain with their brothers and sisters of Bangladesh," said the new envoy.

The Ambassador conveyed Khaleda the greetings of Palestine President Mahmud Abbas and Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.
