Karate meet begins on May 19


The first ever divisional karate competition, organised by Bangladesh Karate Federation, will begin on May 19 at six divisional venues across the country. The opening match will be held in Khulna.

Some 1,500 participants from six divisions will take part in the meet 27-day meet that includes eight events for men and six for women.

Sponsors Samsung Electra International Limited would provide Tk 400,000 to run the competition, Karate Federation general secretary Moazzem Hossain told a press conference at the National Sports Council (NSC) on Sunday.

Federation president Akkas Ali Molla and vice president Munshi Bazlul Anam were present at the press conference.
