SL president's Dhaka visit postponed |
Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa's official visit to Bangladesh, which was scheduled for this month, has been postponed due to the security situation in his home country.
"The Foreign Ministry of Sri Lanka has informed the Bangladesh government of the president's inability to proceed with the official tour," Sri Lankan internet-based newspaper Colombo Page reported.
The three-day tour had been scheduled on July 12-14 under an invitation from the Bangladesh government.
A foreign ministry source in Dhaka said the visit would be rescheduled later.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Navy chief Rear Admiral M Hasan Ali Khan, arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday on a visit at an invitation by the Sri Lanka Navy.
