Wife of slain outlaw, 3 others held in Dumuria


Police Sunday night arrested Karuna Rani Goshai, wife of slain founder of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) Manoranjon Goshai alias Mrinal and his three close relatives from Shovna union under Dumuria upazila.

Police said Karuna Rani, 45, was trying to regroup NBCP cadres after returning to Dumuria from India.

The three other arrestees were identified as Shumitra Prashari, 70, Dulal Bashak, 70 and Tapan Bashak, 32.

Dumuria police station Officer-in-Charge Fazlul Haque said the four were arrested while they were holding a secret meeting Sunday midnight. They were being interrogated when the report was filed yesterday.
