Farooq Sobhan may visit US as special envoy of CA |
Former foreign secretary Farooq Sobhan is likely to visit the USA on May 3 as the chief adviser's special envoy to apprise US officials and congressmen of current situation of Bangladesh.
Sobhan may also meet National Security Council member and other officials concerned.
He would explain various reform measures being taken by the caretaker government to combat corruption and create a level-playing field for holding free, fair and credible elections in Bangladesh.
When contacted, Sobhan admitted his traveling to the USA as a special envoy for a week.
