At least 70 activists of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, Islami Chhatra Shibir, were detained in Noakhali and Comilla districts from Thursday night to early Friday.
Police conducting several raids in nine upazilas of Noakhali, detained 38 activists of the three parties, reports our Noakhali correspondent.
The rest 32 Jamaat-Shibir men were rounded up in Comilla, reports our correspondent from Daudkandi.
In Noakhali, the 38 people were picked up from nine upazilas of the district, said Mahbub Rashed, superintendent of police in Noakhali.
Police in overnight drives in different areas of Comilla detained 32 activists of BNP, Jamaat and Shibir suspecting that they might have carry out subversive activities in the district, said Habibur Rahman, assistant sub-inspector of Daudkandi Police Station.
