Total 27,117 volunteers, mostly students, stood up with red and green blocks to form the flag at the National Parade Ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on the occasion of 43rd Victory Day today on 16 December, paying tributes to the three million martyrs for their supreme sacrifice for the country and with a renewed call for executing all the verdicts against war criminals.
On October 21 last year, 24,200 students set the record for Pakistan during the Punjab Youth Festival.
The programme began around 9:00am and continued till 1:40pm.
The main attraction, completion of the flag, came at 1:30pm.

After two trials for 30 seconds, the participants went to complete the flag around 1:30pm.

The participants stood there for 6 minutes 16 seconds, though the requirement for setting a new world record was 5 minutes, an officer of Guiness told the cheering crowd.

The organisers now wait for official acknowledgement by the Guiness Book of World Records for recognition.

What differences does it make, we made a history; so what? It makes no sense until and unless we people are united behind one & only cause: change the political history which made us look so down around the whole world. Can we change the political culture of the both political party forever? Let us get rid of them now and forever; that will be real making of a new history. May Allah (swt) bless the country and bless the people who are suffering for so long.

Let the human flag rover around Bangladesh and crush all the evil forces that made our life so miserable; WE MUST BE ABLE TO BE UNITED TO THAT CAUSE………

These emotions are the real depiction of patriotism. Congratulations to our younger generation for carrying the baton of freedom that my generation engrained in 1971.
