After Bangladesh’s independence, there was a revival of local craftsmanship. To keep the spirit of local artisans alive, ten of Bangladesh’s leading handicrafts sellers– Nipun, Prabartana, Kay Kraft, Anjan’s, Rang, Banglar Mela, Shada Kalo, Bibiana, Deshal and Nagardola — joined together in 2009 to form “Deshi Dosh.”
Deshi Dosh started out in Dhaka’s Basundhara City, and then an outlet in Chittagong was opened in 2010. The third Deshi Dosh outlet opened in Gulshan on 10 February, 2013. The “Deshi Dosh Art Corner” has also been added to the Gulshan outlet, featuring artworks by local artists. There is also a food corner.
Visit them at: Basundhara City Level 7; Hashim Tower, Gulshan, Tejgaon Link Road; Afmi Plaza Level 5, Chittagong.
