Held Peruvian

Drugs were cocaine

Confirms DNC

The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has confirmed that the Peruvian caught with approximately 3.5kg of drugs on June 10, was indeed carrying cocaine.
They arrived at the conclusion after conducting tests on the drugs, said Mohammad Ali Aslam Hossain, deputy director of DNC, on Monday.
The detained, Juan Pablo Rafael Zagaceta, 28, gave a confessional statement before a Dhaka court.
Juan was caught with three packets of cocaine when a DNC team raided his room in Hotel La Vinci on June 10, the same day that he arrived in Bangladesh.
Juan claims to have been given the cocaine by an unidentified woman in a club in Lima, the capital of Peru. He said a woman was to receive the drugs from the hotel in Dhaka.
He was to be paid US$ 4,500 for carrying the drugs.
