Vidya Balan has refused to confirm whether she will play Carnatic music legend MS Subbulakshmi in a biopic made by admaker-cinematographer and filmmaker Rajiv Menon.
“MS Subbulakshmi was one of the greatest exponents of Carnatic classical music. If I do get to play her I will be extremely honoured. There are talks on and that’s all I will say,” the 34-year-old actress said recently.
“Especially as a South Indian, I think it will be the biggest honour if I get to play MS Subbulakshmi,” she added.
Meanwhile, Vidya, whose films “The Dirty Picture” and “Kahaani” have been big hits, says that today it doesn’t matter which actor you are working with, as the script is the “hero”.
“I think that’s what is being established more and more. To work with someone or not, I don’t think that really is a benchmark,” she said.
The biopic on MS Subbulakshmi will be simultaneously made in Tamil and Hindi.
