Man shot dead in Rangamati

A villager was shot dead by unidentified armed criminals at a tea stall at Jibtoli village in Baghaichhari upazila yesterday morning.
The dead was identified as Sombhu Lal Chakma,60, son of late Laxmi Mohon Chakma of the village.
A gang numbering 3 to 4 came to Subol Chakma’s tea stall at Jibtoli and sprayed bullets on Sombhu Lal when he was taking tea at about 5.45am, leaving him dead on the spot.
United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF) yesterday blamed pro-peace treaty Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) for the killing.
Sajib Chakma, assistant information secretary of PCJSS, refuted the allegation and accused the armed members of UPDF.
