PM receives Tk 10.14cr donation for Savar victims
Unb, Dhaka

A total of 38 organisations and individuals yesterday donated around Tk 10.14 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund for the families of those killed and injured in Rana Plaza collapse.
PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad said Sheikh Hasina received cheques for
Tk 10,14,40,721 at her office.
The donors include Army Welfare Fund; Agrani Bank Ltd; BGB, Dhaka; Bangladesh Navy Central Welfare Fund; Bangladesh Ansar; Air Force Central Non-Public Fund; BHBFC (House Building); BSMMU; Birdem hospital; Provati Insurance Company Ltd; China-Bangladesh Ceramics Industries Ltd; Monjur Quader; and Moazzem Hossain of Hossaf Group.

Man dies as train runs him over
A Correspondent, Chuadanga

A man was killed as a train ran him over in Darshona Halt Station Area at Damurhuda  upazila of  Chuadanga yesterday.
The deceased is Ahsan, 28, of Begumpur village of the upazila.
Damurhuda police said a Khulna-bound train of Shimanto Express ran Ahsan over while he was crossing the rail tracks around 5:00am.
Police sent the body to Chuadanga General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Damurhuda Police Station.

Two killed, 3 injured by lightning

Two people were killed and three others injured by lightning in Phultala and Dumuria upzilas of Khulna yesterday.
In an incident around 9:00am, housewife Rupali Begum was killed as lightning struck her when she was doing household works at a veranda in her house at Garakhola village in Phultala upazila.
In another incident, day labourer Rezwan Sheikh was killed as lightning struck him in Dumuria upazila around 12:30pm.
Besides, Zia Sheikh, Reshma Begum, and Zasim Morol were injured by lightning when they were working in a paddy field in the upazila.
