Saving our rivers

It’s very sad that urbanites sometimes try to make fun of people form the southern part of Bangladesh who usually travels to Dhaka through waterways. A few days ago, I went to Chandpur by a steamer. The Journey was a lot of fun.  Moreover, it led me to have an eye-opener. That is river transport is the most comfortable means of transport in Bangladesh. It took us only 3 hours to reach Chandpur, as there was no traffic jam on the river. Due to the population boom, the numbers of vehicles on our roads are increasing every day. However, our country is full of rivers and most of its districts can be reached through waterways. The concerned authority should introduce more water transports on new routes to make our roads free. If we can save our rivers, our whole country will stay in good shape.
