Stocks return to the red

The prices of the most shares on the country’s premier bourse plunged on Wednesday, shrugging off a gaining streak of the last week.

DGEN, the general index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), declined 5 points to reach 3,704 points at the end of the day’s trading.

Of the issues traded, 144 declined, 109 advanced and 21 remained unchanged.

A total of 82,552 trades were executed with Tk 209 crore changing hands.

On Tuesday, the trading at DSE reached 3,710 points after gaining 46 points.
