The Grand Finale of the Robi – YTP Case Study Competition held

The Mobile phone operator Robi Axiata Limited initiated this contest in January of this year. The objective of “Young Talent Program (YTP)” program was to take young talent development to greater heights. A nationwide case competition was organized as part of the assessment process. This was a continuation of the 2nd phase of YTP program.
Dr A K Azad Chowdhury, Chairman (Hon’ble State Minister), University Grants Commission, graced the occasion as chief guest. From Robi Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Michael Kuehner, Chief Human Resources Officer Matiul Islam Nowshad was present at the event along with Vice presidents Rizwan Hamid Quraishi, Tauhidul Alam, Faisal Khan and others.
The grand finale was among six teams that qualified through a process of rigorous elimination process to compete in the final of this one of a kind case competition in the county.
Participating teams from Institute of Business Administration, Independent University Bangladesh, BRAC University, East West University, Islamic University of Technology, Asian University for Women of Chittagong competed in the final round this evening.
The winning team Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of the grand finale will get the opportunity visit Axiata Group corporate office in Kuala Lumpur. Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) and Islamic University of Technology (IUT) gain respectively the 2nd and 3rd runner up position.
The program is a first of its kind in Bangladesh. Initially graduating students from 19 most renowned universities of Bangladesh took part in the case competition. The competition included graduating students irrespective of the faculty they are enrolled to.
To ensure fairness and objectivity, Robi has collaborated with external knowledge partner in this context.
The program has been executed in three phases. The first phase, Intra-university case study competition, the second phase comprised of inter-university competition. Winners from the second phase participated in the grand finale this evening.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Nowshad said, “Almost 40 per cent of the population in Bangladesh is comprised of the youth and they have huge potential to bring about positive changes in the society. The development of young talents of the country will ensure the development of the country’s business sector as a whole.”
“Young Talent program will help them to grow as good citizens and good leaders so that they can assume responsible roles of corporate leaders irrespective of industry, in the future,” he added.
