Zillur’s first janaza in Bhairab Friday

The body of late president Zillur Rahman will be taken to his birthplace in Kishoreganj on Friday to allow the locals to pay tribute to the veteran politician.

Rahman’s first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Hazi Asmat College in Bhairab at 9:00am on Friday, said the President’s Press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan.

The late president’s body will be flown by a helicopter on Friday morning.

A day after his death in Singapore, Rahman’s body was brought back home Thursday noon and was taken to Bangbhaban, the official residence of the president.

It will be kept at the mortuary of Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka before being flown to Bhairab, according to sources of Prime Minister’s office.

He will be laid to eternal rest besides his wife’s grave at the Banani graveyard Friday afternoon.
