Laser gets a makeover

'Perfection' seems to be the Holy Grail in today's professional world. Just as jobs and careers are becoming more demanding, personal appearance and presentation also comes under intense scrutiny: singers, dancers, news presenters, actresses, even doctors and teachers; everyone is on the lookout for the best look.

Beauty is more than skin deep. Beauty is unique grace and confidence, a shining light that sparkles through the eyes and smiles. It's not merely what you look at; it's what you project. Particularly the female form inspires such poetic phrases as “the depth of her eyes”, “the curve of her belly”, “the beauty of her lips”, “the sensation of her wet hair”, and so on and so forth. In other words, beauty means big bucks.

Even men these days are becoming savvier about their appearance, queuing up for facials, meticulously grooming their beards, and they're fretting harder about bald spots and receding hairlines.

With so much emphasis on perfection, there is an increased pressure to attain the ideal look. Previously, options for getting the perfect skin were limited to diets and facials. If you had a blemish or defect that couldn't be solved by any of the above, you had to grin and bear it. Not any more. With the advancement of medical technology, cosmetic surgery is becoming an increasingly viable, and even sought-after option. Now you can look picture-perfect if you're so inclined.

If you're a little reluctant to face the scalpel, there is another, more painless option available to you, and this is laser surgery. Laser surgery involves the use of light beams to treat cosmetic issues, and it is highly popular because it leaves no scars.

Over the last five years, two or three laser treatment clinics started operations in Dhaka. In this feature we are discussing a laser clinic situated at Dhanmondi Road 27. Since we're on the subject of perfection, this week, we discuss how this clinic was given a facelift.

A clean welcoming reception area always encourage patients, putting them at ease about the treatment. We arranged a long reception table with decorative mirror panel. A gorgeous logo was displayed on the wall behind the reception area. We placed colourful blue, red, and green chairs for the visitors, and installed a tempered glass door for entry. Lovely green plants create a welcoming ambience.

Doctor's rooms are also important. So, we used bright coloured chairs for visitors. Decorative open shelves for décor pieces and paper mache paintings, plants and pottery altogether create a cosy atmosphere.

At the end, Laser skin surgery is a very advanced and sophisticated procedure in dermatology. It is very safe if an expert skin surgeon with laser training does it. Patients must be informed in detail about the procedure and the outcome. So, a welcoming and healthy clinic can ease you into a world of glamour.
