Regency's Iftar extravaganza

This Ramadan, Dhaka Regency is offering numerous options to its food lovers. Alongside platters of Bangladeshi items such as chola, piyaju, beguni, aloo dum, and shahi haleem, Dhaka Regency will be also highlighting the delicacies of the Middle East -- shwarmas, sambuseks, hummus, mandi or kabsa. Iftar special at Mermaid Gallery Cafe

In keeping with their wholesome, environmental outlook, Mermaid Gallery Cafe has introduced an iftar buffet this Ramadan that is not only delicious but also healthy. The menu depicts a change in culture of eateries selling iftar items in the market. Items high in cholesterol and fat dominate the market but Mermaid Gallery Cafe are hoping to change for those who are health conscious and ready to try something different this year. The menu is a mixture of vegetarian items such as the Mediterranean couscous and wok fried vegetables as well as non-veg items like Grilled chicken marinated with Italian herb dressing and Roast beef. The idea is to be as gentle as possible on the stomach but at the same time to ensure a filling and satisfying meal.

The Buffet will be available all throughout the month of Ramadan at a price of Tk1200.

Dressy Dale's Eid Collection

The key feature of Dressy Dales' Eid collection is the combination of cultural tradition and modern, westernised patterns. They have introduced a new type of silhouette instead of an A-line cut. Anjan's

Like in years past, boutique Anjan's has come up with special arrangements for Eid this year. Aside from clothes, Anjan's will also offer jewelley, sandals for both men and women, and home textiles.

Materials used for the shalwar kameez sets -- which are cut and designed according to the latest trends -- are silk, cotton, muslin, linen cotton, endi cotton. The price of shalwar kameez sets at Anjan's ranges from Tk1450 Tk9000.

Cotton, silk, half silk and muslin have been used to make the saris which are designed with hand embroidery, machine embroidery, screen prints and block prints. The saris are priced between Tk350 Tk20,000.

The panjabis have been made using cotton, silk, endi cotton, endi silk and the designs are done in hand embroidery, embroidery and cutting-based designs. The panjabis, available in lengths of long, semi-long and short, are priced between Tk650 to Tk3250.

For children and teenagers there are panjabis, fatuas, shirts, shalwar kameez sets and frocks.

Haier's Eid offer

Haier launches a special campaign from first Ramadan till last day of the holy month. Under the campaign titled “Hundred Percent Cash Back,” with every purchase of Haier televisions, refrigerators, deep fridges, ACs, microwave ovens and washing machines, buyer will get a 'Scratch Card.'

By scratching the card, the buyer can get up to 100 percent reduction on the purchase, depending on the figure stated on the card. This was announced at a press conference held at Spectra Convention Centre in Gulshan, Dhaka, on 1 August, 2011.

Hayes Bangladesh deputy general manager (corporate sales) Zahurul Haque and deputy general manager (dealer & sales) Abdur Rakib were present on the occasion.

Fabrics Gallery has opened their first showroom at Elephant Road on July 29, with freedom fighter and ex-MP Mostafa Mohsin Montu inaugurating the showroom.

Lalburi, a new boutique started its journey at Aziz Super Market amid much fanfare on August 4 (Thursday). Famous singer Ferdaus Ara formally opened this boutique shop, situated on the second floor of the market. Singer Khurshid Alam was also present as a guest at the launch.

Exclusive quality children's attire, panjabis, T-shirts, shalwar kameez sets, saris for the youths will be major attractions at this boutique. High quality panjabis and saris for more mature customers will also be there. Lalburi's young designers will design the dresses on materials such as muslin, silk, khadi, and cotton and the dresses will be available at reasonable prices. Lalburi will offer special concessions regarding its opening till Eid-ul-Fitr. Lalburi will use two special colours selected by any celebrity person every two months in its production.


Eid @ Angeleena

This Eid Angeleena is back with a collection to keep the Eid shoppers busy. In the collection, different shades of green are used to represent Bangladesh's primary colour. Banglar Mela

The 10th branch of fashion house Banglar Mela was inaugurated on the first floor of Bailey Fiesta Shopping Centre at Bailey Road on July 22. Chairman of Banglar Mela and former secretary Lutfullah-hil-Majid inaugurated this branch. Managing Director of Banglar Mela, AKM Golam Maola and other directors were also present at the inauguration ceremony. The first outlet of Banglar Mela was inaugurated at Banani in 2001. This new branch at Baily road will present this year's Eid collection and regular products as well.
