NEWS FLASH

Adam and Eve displays Baishakhi Collection

After making quite an impression the previous year, Adam and Eve are back this time around with their 'Baishakh Collection'. As the theme suggests, this collection is full of loud, vibrant colours and Adam and Eve's trademark designs. A two day festival recently held at Russian Culture Centre displayed their entire line of Baishakhi wear, concluded with a more than positive response, according to one of the owners.

The brain child of four fresh graduates, Adam and Eve started off as an online project, moving on to exhibitions due to the positive responses that they received. Capitalising on Baishakh, Adam and Eve strayed a bit from the common hues of red and white, opting instead for a range of eye-catching colours. This is however not to say that red and white have missed out, as they too are featured throughout the collection. Kurtas, saris, panjabis and kaftans are all up for grabs. Priced between Tk.800 to over Tk.12000, the collection offers a bit for everyone.

The selling point, apart from design and colours, is the uniqueness factor. “Each design is unique to a level where it is made only once”, one of the owner's, Shatabdi Iqbal explained. “Hence, whatever you buy, rest assured no one will have the same thing”, she added. This is perhaps what makes Adam and Eve stand out.

Intricacy in designs is a notion discarded in some designs, proving that simplicity surpasses all at times. But the vibrancy in colours adds a bit more of a confident sheen to Adam and Eve's collection. To understand how far Adam and Eve has come, one needs but a quick glance at the customers arriving, among whom was present the prominent singer Fatima-Tuz-Zohra. Even before the conclusion, Adam and Eve were still making sales and this was perhaps a testament to their success.
