Performance at Cosmic Turtle

Mermaid Art Foundation arranged an art performance at the Mermaid Beach Resort, which was launched at Pechar Dwip; right in front of the widespread sandy beach of Cox's Bazar. Inside the resort area, there is a large (18x56 ft) turtle sculpture, 'Cosmic Turtle Visiting Green Earth', which has been designed by artist Ronni Ahmmed.

The sculpture with the mural inside it has been made to raise awareness about saving turtles around the Cox's Bazar beach. It is also dedicated to the world turtle conservation. Two internationals, Dan Rees, series producer, BBC Natural History Unit and Dr. Charlotte Uhlenbroek, writer and wildlife film presenter, decided to give an art performance with pyrotechnics adjacent to the turtle sculpture.

The performance took place on 4 January.

Catwalk workshop with Bibi Russell

In anticipation of Ethno Fashion, the first ever International Fashion show in Bangladesh, a project the Dhaka and Chittagong Alliance Française and the Goethe Institut will be organising in June 2013, fashion icon and development activist Bibi Russell will be conducting three Catwalk Workshops at the Alliance Française de Dhaka.

The first of the three workshops was held between 8-9 February, the second on 10-11 February, and the last one will be held between 26 and 27 February, 2013. Interested participants may contact Alliance Francaise to register for the last workshop at any of the three sites of Alliances Françaises de Dhaka (Dhanmondi, Gulshan, Uttara) by paying Tk.2,500 only.

Lotto deodorant now available in Bangladesh

Globoscent has recently introduced the famous Italian sports brand Lotto deodorant in the local market. The elements segment of Lotto has four lines -- Earth, Water, Air and Fire.
