A Bangladeshi worker died as he fell from a scaffold in an under-construction building site at Brooklyn in New York on Monday.

The victim, Mosharraf Hossain, 52, who hailed from Companyganj, Noakhali, had been residing in the United States for the last 12 years.

He sent money to his family in the country regularly, Commander of Muktijoddha Sangsad, US unit, Nurunnabi told ANA, a New York-based news agency.

Initiatives have been taken to send back his body to the country soon, he added.

At least six Bangladeshi construction workers lost their lives and about a dozen were injured in similar accidents in New York in the last few years.
