A 16-member delegation of Bangladesh chapter of South Asia Free Media Association (SAFMA) left here yesterday for Kolkata of India to attend a two-day dialogue on 'Dhaka and West Bengal' beginning today.
The first dialogue will be held at the West Bengal Assembly today. Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha Somnath Chatterjee, Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya will attend it.
The second dialogue will take place at Shanti Niketan tomorrow. The Indian chapter of the SAFMA is organising the event.
Zahiduzzaman Faruq, secretary general of the Bangladesh chapter of the SAFMA, is leading the Bangladesh delegation.
The delegation included Abul Asad, editor of the daily Sangram; Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, editor of the daily Manabjamin; Shaymol Dutta, editor of the daily Bhorer Kagoj; Liaqut Ali, editor of the daily Purbanchal of Khulna; Amanullah Kabir, former editor of the Amar Desh; Shaukat Mahmud, president of National Press Club; Ruhul Amin Gazi, secretary general of BFUJ and Nurul Huda, special correspondent of BSS.
