Heynckes content with a point

"

Coach Jupp Heynckes has said Bayern Munich can live with the 1-1 draw at 10-man Nuremberg which ultimately took the Bavarians eight-points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table.

After second-placed rivals Schalke 04 suffered a 2-0 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday evening, the Nuremberg draw only extended Bayern's lead.

Munich were missing injured star wingers Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in Nuremberg and coach Jupp Heynckes opted to leave Spain's Javi Martinez plus Germany defenders Philipp Lahm and Holger Badstuber on the bench.

With Bayern facing a crucial Champions League clash at Spain's Valencia for control of Group F on Tuesday, Heynckes accepted the draw.

"We can live with 1-1, I think it's not the end of the world," he said.

"You simply can't win all your games.

"After taking the early lead, we failed to make it two or even three. Obviously, we conceded the equaliser at a psychologically bad moment.

"In the second-half we experienced a very different Nuremberg, one which was committed to playing forward more.

“Because of the second-half, we have to accept only taking a point."
