Hail Hasan

Abul Hasan becomes only the second No 10 batsman in the history of Test cricket to hit a hundred on debut

Bangladesh debutant Abul Hasan kisses the pitch after reaching his century on the first day of the second Test against West Indies in Khulna yesterday. Hasan, who remained unbeaten on 100, along with Mahmudullah Riyad, rescued the hosts from an ignominious position of 193 for 8 to 365 for 8 by stumps. Photo: Firoz Ahmed

Congrats to Hasan! He shows us the hope & the future of Bangladesh cricket. While hailing Hasan least we forget the awesome support from Riad. It was impossible for Hasan to amle the world record without the extraordinary support from other end. It would be another history if Riad makes a century. Hope & pray for the best!

We must know how to nurture such talent for greater glories, and extend all support moral and material. Hats off for keeping his nerves calm, unlike Tamim. Akram has to tame Tamim into using his staying power and not go for wild shots in test cricket. Bravo to Mahmudullah as well for the vital support to Abul. Get ahead boys, keep your cool!

Congrats to Abul Hasan. Well played and deserve all praise. The caption below the picture is wrong. Abul is not kissing the ground. He is doing a sajda in praise of His Lord. Please don't give wrong impression when the picture itself says something else.

As former president of BCCB and chief selector of Bangladesh team I would like to congratulate Abul Hasan and the chairman of the selection committee Akram Khan for selecting such a young man who excelled beyond all expectation. Well done.

Congratulation to Abul Hasan for good job. Well done. Once again our top batman failed to get any runs. Our top batsman lack basic batting skills to encounter any sort of bowling. I think it might take many generations for Bangladesh to produce players such as Brian Lara or Tendulakar. Good Luck Tigers!

Awesome! Hasan!! Congratulation to you and also Riad for his consistent responsible role he is doing. Really it is a very remarkable day being added in our cricket history especially for the new venue. Actually I have no world how do I express it but do believe now young tigers will be able to make our dream true since nation are making young star cricketer like Hassan, Nassir and hope it will be going on and at last congrats to selectors.

Keyword: consistency. We do not expect him to score centuries regularly, but we do desire that he plays sensibly like yesterday, without taking unwarranted risk. A word of caution: the previous debutant centurion for Bangladesh was Ashraful. We hope Abul does not follow the same steps.

In the photo, is Abul Hasan kissing the pitch or he is thanking Allah by performing a sajdah?

Abul Hasan played very well and has salvaged the home team wonderfully. I only wish, he performs consistently unlike most of his team mates. He has a long way to go, and we wish to see him in his present form as an all rounder. With blessings.
