Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed yesterday took the charge of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) as its new director general from his predecessor Maj Gen Anwar Hossain at BGB headquarters.
He previously served as general officer commanding in 33 Infantry Division in Comilla cantonment of the Bangladesh Army, said a press release.
As a commander, he led one artillery unit, a BGB battalion, a BGB sector, two artillery brigades and an infantry. He also served duties in different vital posts in four artillery regiments.
He was an observer for the United Nations Iraq-Kuwait Observation Mission (UNIKOM) and a military adviser to the force commander of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS).
