Wild elephants kill woman in Sherpur

A woman was killed in an attack by wild elephants at Hariakuna village in Sribardi upazila early yesterday.

The deceased was identified as Nesfali Marak, 25, mother of a four-day-old boy and wife of Sandip Sangma of the village.

Witnesses said a herd of marauding wild elephants attacked the village and trampled Nesfali in front of her home, leaving her dead on the spot at around 4.00am.

The elephants also ransacked several houses.
