Captain Brendon McCullum led New Zealand to a dramatic three-wicket win over England with heroic support from an injured Martin Guptill in the one-day international in Hamilton on Sunday.

ENGLAND: 258 all out in 49.3 overs (Bell 64, Trott 68, Root 56, Buttler 21, Woakes 17; Mills 2-32, McClenaghan 4-56)

NEW ZEALAND: 249 for 7 in 48.5 overs (Guptill 27 not out, Williamson 74, Taylor 22, Elliott 22, B McCullum 69 not out; Woakes 2-52)

Result: New Zealand won by three wickets.
