ATN Bangla lends a hand to a veteran comic actor

ATN Bangla has recently made a contribution of Tk. 25000 for the ailing comic actor A.F.M. Abdul Ali Lalu. Director of Progra-mmes, ATN Bangla, Nawazish Ali Khan and Chairman of Debate for Democracy, Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron gave away the money to the veteran artiste.

The once-renowned comic actor is suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, respiratory problems and several other complications. He lives in Mymensingh.

Lalu became a household name through the 1980's popular TV show Jodi Kichhu Mon-e Na Koren -- hosted by Fazle Lohani and produced by Nawazish Ali Khan.

General Secretary of Mymensingh Press Club, Md. Mozammel Haque; freedom fighter S.A. Kalam and General Secretary of Journalist's Union, Ataul Karim accompanied the ailing artiste receiving ATN's contribution. Previously, Chairman of ATN Bangla, Mahfuzur Rahman, also provided financial assistance to the 76-year-old actor.
