Alternative band Shironamhin launched its third studio album "Bondho Janala." The album launch was held at the G-Series outlet, Bashundhara City Mall on February 13. Members of the band were present; giving out autographs to the fans.
The album has been produced by G-Series and Agniveena. Among others, artistes Milon Mahmud, Kanak Aditya and G-Series owner Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan were present.
Shironamhin is popular among young urban music enthusiasts in the country for its topical lyrics and post-modern approach to music. "Ichchhey Ghuri," the band's second album, was released in 2006 and its debut album "Jahaaji" was released in 2004.
“Usually we take time to put in our best effort. We want to assure the audience that 'Bondho Janala' will once again emphasise the band's philosophy,” said Zia, bass guitarist and main composer of Shironamhin.
"Bondho Janala" features 10 songs, including the titular song, "Bullet kingba kobitaye," "Bhalobasha megh," "Bus stoppage" and "Shuprobhat."
The album features some instruments that are not used frequently in mainstream pop/rock music, like esraj, bodhrán (an Irish instrument), banjo, saxophone and trumpet. A group of seasoned musicians worked with the members of the band for the album.
"I'd like to urge all to stop encouraging music piracy," said Tanzir Tuhin, vocalist of the band.
