Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said Friday that ousted Libyan leader Gaddafi was loved by his people and that the rebellion that toppled him was not a popular uprising.

"This wasn't a popular uprising," like in other north African countries "where the wind of freedom begins to blow," he told young supporters of his People of Freedom party gathered in Rome.

"Powerful men decided to give life to a new era by putting out Gaddafi," he said.

"This wasn't a popular uprising because Gaddafi was loved by his people, as I was able to see when I went to Libya."

When I saw Gaddafi riding about in open top car in public, I thought of Obama and thought how he can't go out without a contingent-entourage of security guards. He has broken every pledge he made. Hope he honestly doesn't plan to get enough votes for another term.

I'm thankful that Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has come on the forefront to show western and Nato hypocrisy. Why are you saying now and not then when Gaddafi was loved by his people? Italy is a member of Nato and should have restrained its fellow barbarians in their organisations. Will the notorious Ocampo come out?

Why is this Silvo Berlusconi hypocrisy? Why are you saying now and not then? All peace loving people know for sure that Nato is agent of west and USA barbarism.
