Appeal for help

Parents of Runa Akhter, 11, and Nadim, 9, who have been suffering from thalassaemia, have appealed for financial assistance for their treatment.

Ruma and Nadim, students of Ekrampur Government Primary School at Sutrapur, are given blood transfusion every 15 days which costs about Tk 6000. But their father Mohammad Rafiq, a grocer, is not in a position to continue their treatment.

Doctors said the two could be cured if they are treated in Singapore, but the treatment involves nearly Tk one crore.

Generous people have been urged to send their contributions to Savings Account No. 3752, Pubali Bank Limited, Sutrapur branch, Dhaka.
