Mother unhappy with verdict on Bushra killing
Staff Correspondent
Mother of slain student Rushdania Islam Bushra yesterday expressed her dissatisfaction over the verdict of her daughter. "All the accused had hands in killing my daughter but some of them escaped," Laila Islam, mother of Bushra said at her Hazipara residence. She said she heard the verdict but it fell short of her expectation. She wished all the accused got capital punishment. "My family turned into a mess following Bushra's killing," Laila said. "My husband died in January in agony at his daughter's death". The grieving mother said the court allowed the killers of her daughter escape. Laila was unable to go to the court to hear the verdict due to poor health. "Bushra was very polite and did not bother any of her neighbours," the bed-ridden mother said. SM Nurul Hossain, Bushra's uncle, said he was happy with the verdict. He also said Hena, sister-in-law of Kader, masterminded Bushra killing. "I am afraid she might put us in more trouble," Nurul added. Moniruzzaman Tuhin, cousin of Bushra, said they were afraid Hena might avenge herself on them.
